Software

Most small firms and start-ups run their business on consumer software, using a spreadsheet and maybe email address book to manage their contacts.

But to grow, small companies have to use more powerful and dedicated software.

When you move from 3 to 10 people and start to put in the production process and client management, at that point spreadsheets and email just can't deliver what is needed.

If you do not have a coherent system you rapidly lose control, and ability to change and adapt are marks of excellence, even in computer systems.

Big software...

Big software firms produce software that is very powerful, but also very bloated as 90% of it's features are not used in everyday tasks.

Learning curves can be very steep, as you have to find out what their process steps are, and then change them to your needs.

Any expanding of the system will see you tied into their existing product range, again bringing in unnecessary complexity and cost.

And if you have more than 3 people working with you, this software can get very expensive.

Web applications

There is a platform that has been arround for over 20 years, and is providing a glimpse of the future where your applications run on any computer.

It's called the Web.

Investments are made on the server only (1 machine), and there are no other licensing costs.

Using the latest browsers we can create applications that look and behave exactly like desktop applications. Multi-tasking, drag and drop, data encryption, it's all there.

Next steps

Computer software is a tool to manipulate information and processes, so the first step is document what information you have and what information you would like to have.

Then we need to decide a time scale for delivering the project, technology to be used and finally the budget.

Let's get in touch and move things forward.
